Signs

Colored Pencil and Photoshop Combo. This is the first time I've drawn after purposely taking a "mental" photo of something. It doesn't look exactly like this... but the process of sketching from memory made me feel a lot more creative than copying from an actual photograph. Can you guess where this place is?

Wow, this reminds me of the New York City subways. I was there a couple of weeks ago. Nice job and thanks for the nice comments.

Hmmm, I'm thinking NYC? Whereever it is it's great. I like the contrast between the bright, vibrant colors and the saddness of the sitting person's situation.

Thanks so much for your comments! It's actually one of the public transit stations here in the San Francisco Bay Area (the Powell Street BART Station). The person sitting is supposed to be a young guy listening to his iPod (I tried to hint at it with the white earphone chord), but my rough sketching made him look like a homeless guy. Oh well, we have them here too. It was a fun process of "taking in" the picture while waiting for the train, and then coming home to sketch what I remembered. Thanks again!

It immediately said train station to me, the orange and black are the colours of the train I used to travel every day on.The contrast between the soft colours and the hard graffics of the ads is very interesting .
